Panzer Füsilier Regiment Großdeutschland Uniform & Equipment Regulations
May 2008 Version I

When wearing any part of the uniform and equipment, attention must be paid to having all the correct contents, for example: bread bags should always have authentic items in them etc. This gives everything the correct look and weight and thus sharpens the image we are trying to portray.

Clothing and equipment is not to look 60 years old.

Insignia should be properly sewn on.

The golden rule is not to buy anything unless you are 100% sure, or have discussed it with the uniform adviser. Ill-judged impulsive buying could end up being a waste of your money.

These regulations will stipulate the basic clothing and equipment items for every member.

Below are a list of recommended militaria suppliers -

Approved Großdeutschland Insignia

Sütterlin script type GD Cuff Title - Nicholas Morigi
Nicholas Morigi. WO642
Sütterlin script type GD Cuff Title - At The Front USA
At The Front (USA). EM Black.

Both examples shown here are based on the ‘Sütterlin script’ type introduced in 1940. This was the most commonly seen GD cuff title. The NM version has highly accurate script, but the ‘Russian braid’ edging is too far away from the script. Conversely, the ATF version has the correct distance between the ‘Russian braid’ and the script, but the script is a little ‘thick’. Either way, these are the best of this type currently on the market.

* To be worn on woollen tunics only. *

To be neatly stitched on at a height of 15cm (or approximately the height of a closed mess tin) above the right cuff.

White Piped Field Grey Wool Shoulder Boards.

White Piped Field Grey Wool Shoulder Boards. W6263
To be worn with a single length of suitable red fabric no more than 1cm wide placed around the base of each board. The red fabric can be sewn into the underside of the board or tacked into a loop as a ‘slip-on’. (See above right).

Approved Uniform Insignia

Embroidered breast eagles and cap insignia on woollen backing material (‘Economy insignia’) are historically inaccurate and therefore not to be worn.

The examples below are displayed as a reference of authenticity approval. If you buy a piece of insignia and it does not look like the items below, you will not be able to wear it.
