Another PaK 40 engages T34/85 tanks that are probing GD elements to the right of Wikowishken. Note that the gun layer has already opened the breech to eject the spent shell casing. He will load the next round by pushing it firmly into the breech with his closed fist, which will automatically close in preparation to fire. He signals to the PaK Geschützführer the successful completion of this by yelling “Fertig!”

The PaK 40 crew look pensive, whilst waiting for the command to dismount from their SdKfz 10 "Demag" and unlimber their gun. This one tonne tractor was a joy to work with, a vehicle that you could see would easily become a home to those who used it. Note that the men are positioned with their feet outside of the vehicle, indicating an imminent dismount. Other detail includes the vehicle's first aid box and two-handled saw.

The PaK 40 crew prepare to re-limber their gun to the "Demag". The man holding the barrel was found to be important in enabling a swifter manhandling of the gun, acting as an effective and much needed counterweight.

The same SdKfz 250/1 "Alte" of the Aufklärungsabteilung prepares to give covering fire to their PaK kameraden with their MG34, prior to rapidly reversing away from the action that has developed.

A Schwimmwagen, again of the Aufklärungsabteilung, attempting to establish intelligence on the dispositions and content of the enemy they face. The passenger in the back is clearly an Alte Kampfe, displaying a rather fine weathered tan!
